All you need to know about The Gaming Forum 2018.

A couple of days ago I saw a number of tweets about “The Gaming Forum 2018” and I was interested about this initiative. So I reached out to the guys at GameNation South Africa to find out more about the event. Boris Bulj, the founder and editor in chief of the website breaks down what The Gaming Forum 2018 is all about.

1) What is the Gaming Forum 2018? The Gaming Forum 2018 is all about creating a social platform for the gaming industry in South Africa to have meaningful discussions with experts in various fields about where the gaming industry is heading, what the latest esports trends are and what needs to be improved for the industry to move in the right direction.

2) What do you aim to achieve with this initiative? The main aim of the Gaming Forum is to unite representatives from the local gaming scene to share insight, advice, discuss the hottest topics, and ultimately generate business opportunities to grow the South African gaming industry even further. We also aim to showcase local indie games that we believe will catapult the game development industry in South Africa.

3) I see that there are a number of panelists/guest speakers that are part of the Gaming Forum, how did you select these individuals? South Africa has an abundance of talent and we selected this lineup based on overall experience in the industry, most of the speakers we have partnered with have been in the gaming industry for over 15 years, pushing the boundaries and getting the local gaming talent noticed by international gaming giants. We believe we can only progress, if we all work together and have meaningful civil dialogue for future gamers and industry leaders to engage in, we believe this line-up is set to do that.

4) Are you planning on turning this into an annual event? Yes, thanks to partners like Mettlestate, Mweb GameZone & Tech Girl we plan to

5) How can an ordinary video game lover like me get involved in all this? Where and when is this all going down? And is there an entrance fee? It is taking place at the Mesh Club in Rosebank, Johannesburg on Wednesday, 28 March from 17:00 – 22:00 and tickets are R500 with your VIP Pass gives access to some of the best games, speakers and snacks to guarantee a fun filled evening.
